Despite the extraordinary year that we are enduring due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Friends of Historic Saugerties remains committed to the importance of learning about and sharing our local history.  From February 2015 through March 2020 we created 57 monthly talks on a variety of historical topics by generous and knowledgeable presenters.

We are grateful to our interesting and interested audience who faithfully attended our lecture series in the Community Room of the Saugerties Public Library and to the Library for their generous support of our initiative.

We are looking forward to the time when we can safely resume our lecture series and bring the joy of sharing local history to the community once again. Until such time when we can again meet in person, we are excited to be bringing you two new ways of presenting history online. One uses Zoom to develop “chats” about pictures of “then and now” that have sparked discussions on Social Media.

The second way we're bringing a presentation to you uses the Microsoft Office App called Sway. which has its own unique way of delivering material that you can return to time after time.

We offer these presentations so we may stay connected and invigorated by new historic learnings.
